In a recent interview showrunner Noah Hawley teases a new kind of Xenomorph for his Alien: Earth TV series. Of course, there needs to be a lot of familiarity, but it seems Hawley is leaning into the fact that Xeno’s take on characteristics of the host they gestated in.
Hawley caught up with Deadline at the recent Emmy’s and talked a little about his upcoming Alien FX series.
“There’s something about seeing a Xenomorph in the wilds of Earth with your own eyes,” said Hawley. “It’s truly chilling to think of it moving here among us, and so I can’t tell you under what circumstances you’ll see that, but you’ll see it – and you’re going to lock your door that night.”
Outside of AVP this is the first time we will have seen Xeno’s on Earth. A very risky move if you ask me, but we will need to see how it goes.
“What was really fun for me was to really engage with the creature, bring some of my own thoughts to the design while not touching the silhouette, because that’s sacrosanct,” he added. “But some of the elements as we know, whatever the host is, informs what the final creature is. I just wanted to play around a little bit to make it as scary as can be.”

One surely then must question, what non-Human species on Earth was the host, and what kind of characteristics could that imbue the Xeno with? Again, we will need to wait and find out. I do recall back in the Dark Horse comic series which was all set post-Aliens that the artists had some cool designs for Xeno’s who were hosted in various animals. In the movies, only Alien 3 gave us a glimpse into that. Hawley doesn’t have to go a similar route, but I’ll be intrigued to see what he comes up with.
