Once Upon A Time In Hollywood Gets A Fitting Retro Poster

Quentin Tarantino. The master of film — or the master of film nostalgia. The dude who manages to make a bunch of people sitting around the table talking cinematic. The man who indulges in bringing in tropes from previous generations and making them work in a new, fresh way. Yeah, in spite of his desire to live in previous decades of filmmaking, he still manages to bring new, engaging films to us every few years.

His next offering is Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, a movie set in 1969, amid a changing world of the film industry. Tarantino has always worn his influences on his sleeve, but with this one, he’s making it the very subject of his love, and it doesn’t come across any better than in this new poster, which calls back to the very era.

Between the big heads and the use of negative space, it really does evoke the feeling of an era gone by. There’s a lot going on in the poster, and I, for one, can’t wait to see how it all plays out in the story.

Given the reception Once Upon a Time in Hollywood received at the Cannes Film Festival, Tarantino has a whole lot to live up to. Does this poster match what you hope to see? Let us know your thoughts down below!
