One Punch Man Artist To Launch Manga Based On Back To The Future

No, that title is not a typo, nor is it a misleading piece of clickbait. This is, in fact, one of those rare instances where my love of Hollywood films intersects with my love of manga. And no, this isn’t even one of those instances where it’s just as single page tribute, cover drawing, or single chapter. This is the real deal.

According to Anime News Network, manga artist Yuusuke Murata — known for manga series One Punch Man and Eyeshield 21 — that he will be launching a new series called BTTF. What does BTTF stand for, you may ask? It stands for none other than Back to the Future. That’s right. Murata will be drawing a series based on the classic Robert Zemeckis film of the same name.

Check out an image below:

Back to the Future screenwriter Bob Gale will be supervising the manga, and the story will include content not seen in the movie. The new manga will begin its serialization on the Kono Manga ga Suigoi site (though we don’t know when), but if reading something in book form is more your style, it will be available on April 20 (though we don’t know if it will be in English…probably not).

Also of note is that despite being based on that first Back to the Future film, the image shown above has the hoverboard from Back to the Future Part II and the train from Back to the Future Part III. It seems very possible that they will be weaving in and out of those films.

Would you read the BTTF manga if it had an English release? Let us know your thoughts down below!
