The unveiling of nominations for the 96th Academy Awards was just released and there were very few surprises that sent ripples through the film industry.

Unsurprisingly, Christopher Nolan’s masterpiece, Oppenheimer, emerged as a frontrunner, securing a whopping 13 nominations and solidifying its position in the Oscar race. Hot on its heels was the enchanting fantasy Poor Things, featuring Emma Stone, with an impressive 11 nominations. Martin Scorsese’s compelling drama, Killers of the Flower Moon, wasn’t far behind, garnering 10 nominations.

Despite the summer blockbuster Barbie managing to secure eight nominations, the most significant surprise arose from Margot Robbie’s lack of an Oscar nomination.
