Owen Wilson in Disney+’s Loki
Owen Wilson is now part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and in an important role.
The anticipated series Loki on Disney+ introduces a mysterious organization Time Variance Authority that seeks to correct any timelines that manages to splits off from the original timeline. Think of it as a Twilight Zone episode of a bureaucratic government agency coming on to clean up the mess by deleting and erasing mistakes.
Owen Wilson plays Mobius, an agent with the Time Variance Authority. He works with Loki to fend off a greater mysterious enemy. Throughout the series, Loki and Mobius play off well against each other nearly like a buddy cop comedy.
Disney+ released a nice featurette dedicated to Owen Wilson joining the MCU.
Marvel Studios’ Loki features the God of Mischief as he steps out of his brother’s shadow in a new series that takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku, and Richard E. Grant. Kate Herron directs the series with Michael Waldron as the head writer.
A few of us got to preview the series and only has mostly positive things to say about the series. No doubt die-hard Marvels will not be disappointed. The tone is quite different from the other Marvel series, bu the dialogue is smart and hilarious.
The original series starts streaming this Wednesday on Disney+
