According to director Max Isaacson in his new action thriller Paradise, something is alluring about a six-shooter.

In a backdrop of tropical paradise, a young female gunslinger seeks redemption for those who murdered her father.

The film stars Patricia Allison (Sex Education, Extraordinary), Bashir Salahuddin (Top Gun: Maverick, South Side), Myles Evans (Teenage Bounty Hunters, The Hate U Give), Tate Donovan (Argo, Shooter), Arjun Gupta (Bridge and Tunnel, Nurse Jackie), and Adam Lustick (Battle of the Sexes).

Max Isaacson directed the movie from the screenplay written by Tony Borden based on the story from Isaacson and Borden.

Here is the official synopsis:

Ella Patchet is a young punk who imagines herself a modern-day gunslinger. With more bullets in her six-shooter than friends in her life, her only anchor is her father, the local sheriff of their backwater paradise. But when he is brutally murdered, Ella’s fragile world collapses.

As the town reels from the loss, the mayor brings in outside law enforcement to handle the investigation, where all leads point to the return of a ruthless drug runner from her father’s past. Despite her doubts, and fueled by grief and rage, Ella sets out on a path of vengeance.

In her quest for justice, Ella learns that the pursuit of power knows no bounds, and the price of truth my be higher than she ever imagined.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta chatted with director and co-writer Max Isaacson about the backstory, his love of westerns and a six-shooter gun, Hawaiian production, and Patrician Allison’s preparation.

Max Isaacson is a genre filmmaker that has multiple films under his belt that included Pipe with Zoe Bell and Tracie Thoms, Whispers, and Bad Eggs. On the Internet, he has a couple of viral hits that included a banned German Sprite ad and a Funny or Die segment titled No Problem.

Paradise is currently streaming on Tubi in the United States and Canada.
