Genesis Rodriguez never shies away from action roles. For the Paramount+ series Lioness, her new role as Captain Josephina Carrillo elevates the challenges physically and mentally as the team embarks on preventing a war.
Rogriguez joins the ensemble cast that includes Zoe Saldana, Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Kelly, Laysla De Oliveira, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill, and Hannah Love Lanier.

As the CIA’s fight against terror moves closer to home, Joe (Saldana), Kaitlyn (Kidman), and Byron (Kelly) enlist a new Lioness operative to infiltrate a previously unknown threat. With pressure mounting from all sides, Joe is forced to confront the profound personal sacrifices she has made as the leader of the Lioness program.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with actress Genesis Rodriguez about her new role and preparation.
Genesis Rodriguez started off in leading roles for Telemundo telenovelas that included Prisionera, Dame Chocolate, and Doña Bárbara. Her big break into American cinema with a role in Man on a Ledge and played Sarah in the HBO series Entourage. In films, she starred in Hours, Casa de Mi Padre, What to Expect When You’re Expecting, The Last Stand, Tusk, and Run All Night. She lends her voice as Honey Lemon in the Disney Animation film Big Hero 6 and its follow-up animated television series.
The eight-episode second season of Lioness premieres Sunday, October 27, with two episodes on Paramount+.
