Another day, another massive Marvel leak as a partial trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has leaked online. I have seen this admittedly potato quality leak and it appears legit. The fact Sony have been copyrighting anyone publishing it also tells you of its validity.
It goes without saying then that anything discussed here is not only rumor, but actual SPOILERS. For example, maybe who Sadie Sink is playing. So…
**Spider-Man: Brand New Day SPOILERS Below **
My description is mainly dialogue based because it was really hard to see what was going on due to only a section of blurry screen. I do think is saw what looked like ninja’s swarming Spider-Man. Therefore, that rumor The Hand are fighting Spidey seems true, as it looked like them to me.
However, the voice over belongs to both Holland’s Peter Parker and Sadie Sink’s mystery villain. Yes, we can definitely say Sink is laying a villainous role. I know set pictures had her being taken away cuffed, but tonally, she’s the villain here in this trailer.
It begins with Holland speaking over a montage of images of both Peter and Spider-Man from the film. It seems like he’s talking (maybe not directly) to MJ.
“Hi, my name is Peter Parker. You don’t remember me, but we used to know each other. Something bad was gonna happen, and the only way to stop it…was to make everyone forget about me. Because I’m not just Peter Parker, I’m Spider-Man. And sometimes, Spider-Man has to do the hard thing, even if it breaks Peter Parker’s heart.”

Then we see Sadie Sink’s character appear silhouetted against a doorway. Visually you can’t make out it’s Sink, but the voice is Sink for sure, saying;
“You’re a mess, Spider-Man. Don’t get in my way. Otherwise, it won’t just be your friends who don’t remember who Peter Parker is.”
Definitely pointing towards the Shathra rumor, and less on the Jean Grey side, but who knows for sure? Spider-Man villains are never evil for evil’s sake, bar maybe Kingpin. Therefore, there will be some angle to what Sink’s character is doing that we can empathise with. That’s just how you write Spider-Man stories and part of their appeal. Therefore, it could still be a Jean Grey intro of some kind. However, the evidence seems more on Shathra at this time I’ll admit.
Watch this space I guess for an official release at some point.
