Pattinson On How Different Tonally The Batman Is And Sequel Teases

In the latest issue of Total Film, there is an interview with Robert Pattinson on how tonally different The Batman is and sequel teases. The magazine had a chat with both Pattinson and co-star Zoe Kravitz who plays Catwoman. The article was covered online by sister site GamesRadar Here is what Pattinson had to say about both how tonally different this one is and the par for the course sequel teases.

“When I saw it the first time, even from the first shot, it does feel incredibly different, tonally, to the other movies,” he says. “And it’s so strange, and kind of… It’s sad, and quite touching. It’s a really, really unusual Batman story, and it almost seems harder for me to imagine it being a series afterwards. I mean, they always have that little bit at the end, that’s like: ‘…and coming up!’ But other than that, it feels strangely personal. I think people will be quite shocked at how different it is.”

Of course whether we get a sequel to The Batman will largely depend upon how successful The Batman is at the box office. Though, given it’s Batman and the hype online is already pretty high, I’ll guess The Batman performs well. here are of course leaks out there for the movie, but I am trying to stay away from then on The Batman, for once. I therefore have no idea how this movie concludes or what kind of sequel teases Pattinson is talking about. I can’t wait to find out though.

As for The Batman being tonally different from all other versions, honestly that’s a tough task. We have had so many variations on Batman over the years that it’s hard to find a new niche. Ultimately I don’t need that to enjoy the movie, but if it does pull off something special then all the better.
