Paul Walter Hauser Admits Previous Versions Gave Him Doubts About Joining The Fantastic Four Reboot

Following some recent rumors Marvel boss Kevin Feige confirms the Fantastic Four shoot date and the 60's setting.

In a recent interview actor Paul Walter Hauser admits that poor previous versions gave him doubts about joining The Fantastic Four reboot. Walter Hauser spoke to THR about his casting in the upcoming Marvel movie. For now we still have no idea who Hauser is playing in the movie. Check out what he had to say.

“Don’t think that didn’t weigh in as I was deciding whether or not to take the job,” Hauser says of the property’s checkered Hollywood past. “That movie has not fully been nailed just yet.”

He continues, “But I really do think the combination of the screenplay, and the department heads that are working on the film, and that classy cast of really exciting actors — some of them known for a long time, and some of them having a moment right now — [make me feel that] this movie is special, and it was something I wanted to be a part of.”

“Matt Shakman directed me years ago in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” Hauser says. “To come back together and collaborate on this movie in some capacity, it’s really exciting. I’m excited to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

Previous versions have been in my opinion cheap cash ins. Therefore I really hope this is the movie to finally bring the FF to life on screen. Fantastic Four was always one of my favorite comic books as a kid. It’s absolutely possible to make a great movie franchise, if treated with the respect it deserves. If anyone is going to get that right, it will be Marvel Studios themselves….I hope.

Hauser is one of two big actors cast in unnamed roles in the movie. The other one being hot star Natasha Lyonne, as per the related section above. Outside of those two we also have the full cast announced for the team themselves. Plus Ralph Ineson as Galactus and Julia Garner as his Herald Silver Surfer.

What do you think of his comments as Paul Walter Hauser admits that poor previous versions gave him doubts about joining The Fantastic Four reboot? Thoughts below as always.
