Peacemaker Season 1 Wraps Confirms James Gunn

James Gunn describes Peacemaker as both a prequel and sequel to The Suicide Squad

The Suicide Squad director James Gunn has completed the shooting process as Peacemaker Season 1 wraps. Gunn casually confirmed Peacemaker Season 2 recently. Therefore it’s not that notable that Gunn refers to the show as ‘Season 1’ here. Take a look at Gunn’s social media post below.

When could Peacemaker Season 2 actually happen though? The current plan is for James Gunn to move into directing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 next for Marvel Studios. It seems likely that Gunn will also direct the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special at the same time.

Perhaps Gunn’s next project following his Guardians swansong will be to go and make Peacemaker Season 2? It’s also quite possible that Gunn could be taking more of an executive role on Peacemaker Season 2? Until we hear something more definitive from the man himself all bets are off. Either way, we will be seeing more of Peacemaker.

I’m excited to see The Suicide Squad more than most other DCEU movies, because of Gunn’s involvement. Also, the trailer sold the movie to me even more. As yet though, I don’t know the character of John Cena’s Peacemaker. Therefore, until I meet him in The Suicide Squad I find it hard to get excited over the Peacemaker show.

I guess we will just need to wait and see? For all we know Peacemaker is a standout in The Suicide Squad and that’s why Gunn started thinking about the show? However, it would not be the first time a movie has created a spin-off that didn’t work, so for now I refuse to get too excited by Peacemaker.
