Here’s my Peacemaker Season 2 finale review and my season review as a whole, as for the finale, it’s not bad. However, it also was not spectacular, nor was the season as a whole.
Since we are on day of release, I watched after work and decided to review straight away, this is a SPOILER FREE review. Though I will act as though you’ve seen the previous episodes leading to this.
What I Liked
The finale begins with teams exploring the Quantum Unfolding Chamber and the many worlds hidden behind doorways. I won’t get into the specifics, but this was without a doubt my favourite part of the finale. It was disturbing and very fun at the same time. I especially enjoy us beginning to realise that Rick Flagg Sr. really isn’t all that good a guy. In case you hadn’t noticed to this point of course.
The big set up here that will carry through to Man of Tomorrow is pretty neat. Though, what changes between now and Man of Tomorrow must be significant. We know Lex and Superman are forced to team up in Man of Tomorrow, but how we get from here to there… Well, there’s more to come before get to that sequel in 2027.
As for Chris’s fate… I’ll assume at some point that needs to get resolved. One would assume the best next step would be a third Season of Peacemaker. However, according to James Gunn in an interview I’ll share later today, there’s no immediate plans for a Peacemaker Season 3. So who knows?
Criticisms
Mainly follow on’s from last week for me. The whole Nazi Earth story really is ended and this episode only briefly dealt with its affects through Chris. Though, despite Chris’s arc taking a dark turn, he does seem to perk back up quickly towards the end.
What I will criticise is having two full song performances to sit through this episode. The first one was important narratively, I get that. However, we didn’t need to see the season theme song played in its entirety in the final act.

This finale felt like a tease for what comes next in the DCU. It’s like Episode 7 was the actual season finale and Episode 8 is just what happened to everyone after. I’m not saying it was pointless, it helps to tease fans back. Yet, narratively you are missing very little by skipping this finale. You’ll just be slightly confused by what comes next and where everyone is.
Luckily, the episode remains fun and watchable, so it’s not a terrible ending, it’s vanilla.
GRADE: B-
Good fun, but anti-climactic and feels more like Episode 1 of the next season, a season we’re probably not getting. At least, we’re not getting it before 2027’s Man of Tomorrow.
Season 2 Review
Fun, good comedy for the most part, but narratively far weaker than Season 1. Some lukewarm character development and some fun ideas not quite dipped into hard enough. One or two episodes standout, but otherwise you’ll smile watching Season 2 and then forget most of it in a month.
Not as good as Season 1, but still worth your time.
GRADE: B-
Almost downgraded to C+ purely on the quite needless levels of soft porn shown in the opening episode. However, I feel that would actually be harsh, as I had fun each week when I watched Peacemaker Season 2.
What do you think of my Peacemaker Season 2 finale review, or my Season 2 review? As always, leave any of your own Season 2 thoughts below.
