We have the full trailer for Peacemaker Season 2 and it see’s Chris find an alternate world, but it’s not the one you think it is. We know Peacemaker S1 was set in the DCEU and Season 2 is set in the DCU. How exactly that will be handled DC Studios are not saying. However, James Gunn (at SDCC) was quick to point out the alt-world plot seen in the trailer below is not DCEU>DCU.

I think Season 2 looks really good and I was a huge fan of Season 1 already. Tonally, we know this is going to be very different from Superman and that’s as planned by DC Studios. TV does allow the opportunity for more mature content. In fact, I’d go as far as saying the more mature the tone, the better it fits on TV.

Gunn confirmed at SDCC that Peacemaker Season 2 IS in the DCU and takes place around a month after the events of Superman, where Chris cameoed. Gunn also confirmed the DCU has around 100 Universes we may see pop up at various points.
As for how Peacemaker Season 2 will address some inconsistencies with Season 1’s DCEU connections remains to be seen. Truth is, I’m not sure I really care as along as Season 2 is as good as Season 1 was.
So, Season 2 see’s Chris discover an alternate world and one that seems to him much better, but it’s not what we think, i.e. the explanation for DCEU into DCU.
Peacemaker Season 2 will premiere on HBO on August 21. Though, I await finding out how I can watch it in the U.K. Creature Commandos took months as did Peacemaker Season 1. Therefore, I may not be reviewing it at a relevant time for readers sadly.
