Carla Gugino in Leopard Skin

Carla Gugino is a versatile actress with memorable roles in the comic book Watchmen to action film San Andreas and even a horror series with The Haunting of Hill House. With the Leopard Skin series on Peacock, she jumped on the opportunity to be a mysterious woman filled with secrets that slowly get unveiled after a band of criminals barged into her home.

Sebastian Gutierrez wrote, produced, and directed the thrilling series. The cast includes Ana de la Reguera, Gaite Jansen, Nora Arnezeder, Philip Winchester, Gentry White, Amelia Eve, Margot Bingham, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Peacock’s newest thriller, Leopard Skin, kicks off when a criminal gang fleeing a botched jewelry heist is forced to hide in a beachside estate where two intriguing women, Alba and Batty (Carla Gugino and Gaite Jansen), live in seclusion. Dark and humorous complications arise when they are joined by two dinner guests, documentary producer Max (Philip Winchester), his flighty girlfriend Maru (Amelia Eve), and the estate’s former housekeeper, Inocencia (Ana de la Reguera). Yet, when they are all soon taken hostage, murderous secrets, coldhearted betrayals, and shocking desires bubble to the surface as everyone awaits their fate.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta talked with lead actress Carla Gugino about her fascinating role, the cast, and the production on a secluded set.

Carla Gugino started her career in television in the late 1980s and early 1990s with Good Morning, Miss Bliss, Who’s the Boss?, ALF, Doogie Howser, M.D., The Wonder Years, and a recurring role on Falcon Crest. On the film side, she starred with Shelley Long in Troop Beverly Hills and then with Pauly Shore in Son in Law. In 2001, she was the family matriarch in Spy Kids and its subsequent sequels. She appeared as Lucille in the graphic novel adaptation of Sin City in 2003. The following year, she starred as Ben Stiller’s love interest in Night at the Museum. Her other notable credits included Watchman, The Unborn, Race to Witch Mountain, Sucker Punch, San Andreas, and Californication and Political Animals.
