Pet Sematary, the remake of the Stephen King novel of the same name is coming to a theater near you on April 5, 2019, but if you want a chance to check it out ahead of its release date, you need only see it at this year’s SXSW, which is being held from March 8 to 17 in the city of Austin, Texas.
The world premiere of Paramount Pictures’ Pet Sematary, directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer, will close the 2019 Festival. So, yeah, if you wanted to check out the film, here’s your chance. Whether or not it will live up to the hype surrounding it thanks to its source material (and subsequent adaptation from years ago), we’ll have to wait and see.
Additionally, the studio announced that the new trailer for the film will be hitting tomorrow morning, as you can see above.
Below is the official synopsis for Pet Sematary:
Based on the seminal horror novel by Stephen King, Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed (Jason Clarke), who, after relocating with his wife Rachel (Amy Seimetz) and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor, Jud Crandall (John Lithgow), setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.
