PETITION ALERT! Delusional Fans Want To Bring Tony Stark Back To Life In The MCU

Oh, boy. We’ve fallen so far in the past year or so. And yes, I very much understand how, in covering it, I am a part of the problem, but I’m also a firm believer that these fans deserve all the ridicule in the world for some of the stuff their pulling. Pretty much every week there’s a new group of entitled fans hoping to influence and bully Hollywood into making things happen in their movies and TV shows that they want to happen. Today’s victim: the MCU.

A new petition has materialized on Change.org (though I won’t be linking them), this time pointing to the illustrious Tony Stark. Avengers: Endgame fans know the franchise killed off Tony Stark. In one final moment of sacrifice, he snapped his fingers and became another victim of the Infinity Stones. Well, some fans weren’t happy about that:

“MCU’s Tony deserves to come back fully alive. Tony Stark was always ready to risk his life, suffer, and sacrifice himself for anyone, without ever receiving anything in return. Since the beginning, since he was a kid. He can never be happy, and when he finally got what he always wanted, and deserved, his wife, his daughter, his family.. he died. He didn’t deserve this and it’s not fair, after everything he’s been through, and done for everyone, he deserves to live and see his daughter grow up.

“He has helped so many people (in the mcu and in our world), he has helped people to live (including me) to overcome their problems, to accept themselves, to face life. He’s so important. He saved our lives and it’s our turn to save him.

“We love him so much. We love him 3000. Without him, now, we are totally lost. For many people, he was their reason to live and hold on in life.”

While it’s very possible this is a practical joke, this is literally the worst kind of petition imaginable. It’s not a petition that contributes actual good criticism — Avengers: Endgame was very well received by both fans and critics alike — but rather a situation where a fan is basically saying, “Things didn’t happen like I wanted them to, so we need to make it happen.”
