Poe Dameron To Be Less Of A ‘Lone Wolf’ In Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker

One of the things I really wanted to see from Star Wars: The Last Jedi was a development of the new trio of main stars, those being Finn, Rey and also Poe Dameron. Poe was originally and famously supposed to be killed in that Tie crash in The Force Awakens with Finn, but JJ Abrams was impressed with Oscar Isaac and write a larger role for him.

I myself, was disappointed that we didn’t get to see much of Rey, Finn, and Poe together in The Last Jedi, because I don’t think they had quite built their relationship enough to do the whole ‘splitting them’ up thing like it was with Han, Leia, and Luke in The Empire Strikes Back.

But it looks like this is being addressed with The Rise of Skywalker, talking with Vanity Fair, Oscar Isaac gives some small details about where we can find Poe in this upcoming movie.

“Whereas in the other films, Poe is this kind of lone wolf, now he’s really part of a group. They’re going out and going on missions and have a much more familiar dynamic now.”

The outlet also mentions how Poe has developed his leadership skills in the year’s gap between the end of The Last Jedi and the beginning of The Rise of Skywalker.

It’s good to know we are going to see Poe actually interact with Rey a little in this movie, when they said hello to each other at the end of The Last Jedi, I was thinking how crazy it was these characters hadn’t met across two movies of a trilogy to that point.
