Pokémon: Did Images Of These Pokémon Switch Starters Leak?

Nintendo Switch owners have been eagerly awaiting the impending release of the next entry in the Pokémon franchise. The game was first announced last June, and since then, we’ve been anxious to hear about any tidbits regarding the game.

When it was first announced, it was stated that the game may not release for more than a year, leading many to assume it was on course for a 2018 release date. Nintendo has been understandably mum about the game in the time since then, but we may have stumbled onto some concept art for the starter Pokémon in the upcoming game.

These images, which “leaked” onto 4chan, before getting deleted, have since come onto Twitter. Check them out below:

But are these images real? While they are pretty convincing in style, there seems to be one red flag. YouTube user PokeSirena has pointed out that the grammar used in the sketches is pretty odd. That in addition to these images being framed seems to point to them being a fake.

That being said, there have been similar leaks in the past for older Pokémon games, so I guess we won’t really know until the game comes out. What do you think about these images? Do they seem convincing to you? Let us know your thoughts down below!
