Possible Amazing Spider-Man 3 With Garfield | Barside Buzz

Could we ever get an Amazing Spider-Man 3 with Garfield playing Peter? Read on for more details.

By now it seems a certainty that both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire will return as Spider-Man in Spider-Man 3. However, according to one writer, Garfield’s Parker will ‘steal the show’ so that we could end up getting Amazing Spider-Man 3.

Frankie Gilmore from Discussing Film said this when asked by a fan whether we could see Maguire or Garfield carry on.

Gilmore also went on to say both Maguire and Garfield were in Spider-Man 3. In a since deleted tweet, Gilmore said.

“They’re both in it and filming. Coming to an agreement on Tobey’s deal took longer than Sony was expecting, which is why we haven’t got any official word yet.”

Nothing is ever truly gone when it comes to the internet, is it? So I have no idea whey Gilmore deleted this tweet, but take from that what you will.

As a fan who has almost no interest in Sony’s movies, and loves Holland in the MCU, this would make me happy. If somehow Tom Holland was able to carry on as Spider-Man within the MCU, that would be great. If Sony were able to push ahead with their own universe using Garfield as Peter, best of both worlds, no? However, I do have a hard time believing anything like this would be set in stone. I can’t see Sony making any firm plans until reactions to the likes of Maguire and Garfield are received. However, it does not sound like Gilmore is saying firm plans are in place. He seems to be saying he’s heard Garfield has been so good it is giving Sony new ideas. Now, that I can believe.

Honestly I will accept any situation where Tom Holland’s Parker gets to stay in the MCU under Feige’s creative control. I can then, as a fan, accept or dispense with Sony’s movies depending on their quality.
