In an interview with Deadline, Entertainment One’s Global Television president, Michael Lombardo, took time to discuss the Power Rangers franchise. Power Rangers has been a global phenomenon and has been in comics, movies, and TV shows. The production company, eOne, has been trying to set up multiple movies and series on the Power Rangers and will be on Netflix.
During the interview, Lombardo was asked about the status update on Hasbro titles including Power Rangers:
Since we set up Power Rangers with Jonathan, we pitched really a whole-world approach. It’s not just one show, it is shows followed by films, some kids’ programming. We have found a great writing partner for him, they are off. Knock on wood, Netflix is excited, we’re excited, we hope to have some news soon.

The Power Rangers is definitely loved in my house. My husband and son are big fans. Some fans on Twitter weren’t happy with the news, but I’m not sure if this is a bad thing. Netflix could make something amazing with a Power Rangers universe. They did an amazing job with the multiple Marvel series they had. Constant reboots can get annoying, but if it gets the love it deserves, Power Rangers could be great. Power Rangers 2017 had some problems, especially their ugly costumes. I felt the cast made the movie watchable. It wasn’t amazing in my eyes, but not terrible.
What do you think of a Power Rangers universe coming to Netflix? Let me know in the comments.
