Talk about confidence.
Chris Pratt, who is set to return to a screen near you as Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, in the upcoming sequel Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2, is feeling pretty good about the movie. The film, which will once again be directed by James Gunn, and has upped the already impressive star power of its cast, was always going to be bigger in scope, but Pratt says it’s going to be the biggest.
The actor, who also top-lined Jurassic World– a film that broke all kinds of records last year-, says that Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 is actually going to one-up everything we’ve ever seen. Ever.
Here’s what he told the Toronto Sun:
“It’s a fabulous script. I think it’s going to be- I’m not using hyperbole, here – I think it’s going to be the biggest spectacle movie of all time.“
That’s pretty bold there, Mr. Pratt.
I wonder what his costars think? They include a bevy of big names like Vin Diesel, Kurt Russell, Sylvester Stallone, Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana, and Glenn Close- who have all appeared in some rather large spectacles of their own.
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 is going to include some fairly major plot points, including the revelation of Quill’s father (Ego The Living Planet!!), the introduction of Mantis, and planting some cosmic seeds for the impending Avengers: Infinity War, which means that Thanos will likely loom large. So it’s not hard to see why Pratt thinks the size and scope of this sequel has the potential to eclipse just about anything that’s come before it.
We shall see, when Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2 comes out on May 5, 2017.
