One of the most popular shows of 2018 according to ScreenRant was Marvel Television’s Cloak & Dagger. The series is based on the two characters who were injected with a mysterious drug that caused them to mutate and grant them superpowers created by Bill Mantlo and Ed Hannigan. The first season heavily adapts that origin story but it takes place in New Orleans and showcasing the heroes played by Aubrey Joseph and Olivia Holt as the saviors of the city.
Today via their Twitter page, they announced that the second season of Cloak and Dagger will kick off on Thursday, April 4th on Freeform in a two hour season premiere event. The also revealed this great poster that you can check out below!

One of the interesting things about the Tweet is that it includes the message “Mayhem is coming”. This of course is a reference to the character Brigid O’Reilly, played by Emma Lahana, who in the first season was a detective that had moved from New York and was an ally to Cloak and Dagger. But in a turn of events at the end of the first season was exposed to the energy unleashed by Roxxon. Now this season Tandy and Tyrone will have to deal with a seeing one of their close friends become their enemy.
But we know that they will also have to probably deal with other “fantastical” villains as hinted by showrunner Joe Pokaski during an interview last year with SYFYWIRE where he mentioned Mister Jip, saying that he may have already appeared in the first season. This is an almost demonic being that can jump from one host to another. He is drawn to the darkest and most corrupt men, feeding on their souls to stay alive. In the comics he becomes obsessed with Cloak thinking that his darkforce powers made him immortal.
For me this was one of my favorite Marvel shows released last year. So I am looking forward to the second season. Did you enjoy the first season? Let us know in the comment section below!
