Prime Video Takes Action In Supporting The Latino Film Institute | Exclusive Interviews

Last night the founder of the Latino Film Institute, Edward James Olmos celebrated Amazon Studios support to the Latino community. They will be sponsoring 2022-2023, Youth Cinema Project (YCP) Alumni Program. The YCP is one of the Latino Film Institute’s signature programs.

The Latino Film Institute (LFI) showcases, strengthens, and celebrates the richness of Latino lives by providing a pipeline, platform, and launching pad from our community into the entertainment industry. LFI houses three signature programs: The Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF), The Youth Cinema Project and Latinx in Animation (LXiA).

Edward James Olmos has been in the entertainment industry for over 50 years. Originally a musician and has achieved outstanding success as an actor, producer and humanitarian. This Icon has received prestigious awards. Including a Golden Globe for his role as Jaime Escalante in Stand and Deliver. He directed and starred in his first film American Me. Today, he is remembered for several of his projects but a few of the popular roles were as Abraham Quintanilla in Selena and Admiral William Adama in Battlestar Galactica

His success has never gotten in the way for him to forget to give back to his communities that supported him. Olmos is an international spokesperson, humanitarian and advocate for organizations like The River Keepers, The Boy’s and Girl’s Club of America, Thank you Oceans and founder of the Latino Film Institute.
