One of the biggest highlights so far in this season of The Mandalorian has to be the brief cameo of Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett. Although quick we see that our favorite Bounty Hunter has been living on Tatooine as a loner without his armor. From the first episode we saw that Cobb Vanth came into possession of Boba’s armor from a group of Jawas. It is still a mystery of how Boba was able to escape the Sarlacc Pit and what he has been doing on the desert planet. While there are still plenty of episodes left of the second season of The Mandalorian left to explore this character, it is safe to say this story will be told on its own. For some fans even with the recent appearance of Temuera Morrison it was not a guarantee a spinoff was in the works.

It has been rumored for quite some time that a Boba Fett Disney+ show was in the works. Here at LRM we reported that a Boba Fett series was in the works as part of an expanded Mandalorian universe. With the recent cameo and no sense if we will see Boba in the remainder of this season of The Mandalorian the announcement of the Boba Fett tv show should be imminent.
In the latest issues of Production Weekly the Untitled Boba Fett (w/t Buccaneer) series has been listed as a project that has started production. This is a toss up that the show has actually been green lit since Production Weekly does list projects sometimes that are just from articles. There is a Q4 Earnings Webcast scheduled for 4:30 pm EST today where we are hopeful to get more information regarding the rumored Star Wars Disney+ shows.
The big mystery about the show is when and where will the show pick up and what will Boba’s story be about. The working title ‘Buccaneer’ has given some theories that Boba lifestyle will be more pirate centric. What do you all think? Are you excited for a Boba Fett series?
