It has been confirmed that Jon Bernthal’s Punisher will not appear in Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. Bernthal appeared as Punisher in Season 1, but he will next be seen in a Punisher Special before co-starring in Spider-Man: Brand New Day alongside Tom Holland.
It seems that’s pretty much why his story isn’t being explored in Born Again Season 2. As per, Empire Magazine, executive producer Sana Amanat explains in their coverage of Born Again Season 2 that Punisher does not appear. However, reiterating Frank’s story will pick up in that Punisher Special.
Alongside Bernthal, Jason R. Moore will return in that Punisher Special as Frank’s friend Curtis Hoyle and King Richard helmer Reinaldo Marcus Green is directing the special. All we really know about the special so far is that one of the antagonists is comic book crime boss Ma Gnucci.

Meanwhile Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will be with us in March and whilst there’s no Punisher, we do have Jessica Jones back. As for the Punisher Special, all we know is it releases in 2026. Whether that is before, or after Born Again Season 2 remains to be seen.
2026 is definitely going to be a big year for Punisher with his inclusion in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, in what seems a reasonably decent sized role. Though, I do think Frank works best in TV, and not in that PG-13 setting the Spidey film will go for.
