Quentin Tarantino Urges Cannes Audiences Not To Spoil His Latest Film

Tomorrow, Quentin Tarantino’s latest opus, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will be screening at the world-famous Cannes Film Festival. The film is Tarantino’s first since The Hateful Eight hit over three years ago, and marks his ninth (and possibly second to last) feature. As is the case with any Tarantino joint, there’s a certain amount of expectation that comes with it, and in the age of spoiler culture, Tarantino seems as worried as ever about his latest getting ruined.

After all, this movie isn’t hitting wide audiences until late July, so there will be a two-month gap between when it’s first screened and when mainstream audiences will have a chance to see it, increasing the risk of audiences getting spoiled. In anticipation of this, Tarantino took to Twitter to ask audiences not to share any details about the flick.

“I love Cinema. You love Cinema. It’s the journey of discovering a story for the first time.

I’m thrilled to be here in Cannes to share “Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood” with the festival audience. The cast and crew have worked so hard to create something original, and I only ask that everyone avoids revealing anything that would prevent later audiences from experiencing the film in the same way.”

There is a lot of mystery surrounding this movie. We know the late Sharon Tate will be involved, and it’s hard not to question whether or not Tarantino will be rewriting history once again with it, and with there seeming to be little to no plot, audiences are hungrier than ever for whatever details they can get.

Let’s just hope what is revealed don’t ruin the experience.
