Right now, gamers seem to be counting down the hours until they’ll get to indulge in the open-world western setting of Red Dead Redemption 2. The original game is an amazing staple of the genre, and fans have been waiting years to lose themselves in this kind of world a second time.
We are just shy of two weeks’ from the game’s release, and if you’re one of the many who plan on taking this behemoth on, you may want to enjoy your real life as much as possible, as it sounds like it may be gone for quite a long time once the game hits on October 26.

But just how long is long? In a new extensive piece from Vulture, which chronicles the making of the ambitious western, they give us an idea of just how much content we can expect in the main campaign. In it, they state that up until recently, it contained 65 hours of content, but that five hours was recently dumped. This included an extra love interest that didn’t work and a mission where they dealt with bounty hunters on a train. Luckily, this all seemed to be in service of a stronger experience.
It’s worth noting this doesn’t mean that we will only be getting around 60 hours of content. Considering it’s an open-world game, you can get there will be a hell of a lot of other content that could keep you busy for well over 100 hours.
In short, make sure to set aside plenty of time when it comes out because your social life is going bye-bye.
