Release Of Falcon And The Winter Soldier Delayed Due To Coronavirus!

Falcon and the Winter Soldier Delayed

Falcon and the Winter Soldier delayed!

We reported on some sad news yesterday that location shooting for Falcon and the Winter Soldier in Prague has been canceled. The cause of this cancellation is the Coronavirus outbreak across the World. The question on most fans’ lips was, whether this would result in a delay to the release of the Marvel show? It looks like those fears have been confirmed by fellow fans.

Atlanta Filming has confirmed the delay on social media. The first three episodes of the show still have a lot of filming left apparently. It turns out those episodes are the ones set in Prague. Falcon and the Winter Soldier can hardly release with incomplete early episodes. Atlanta Filming no longer allows copying of Tweets, so here is an image of the social media exchange.

The account has a solid track record of Atlanta-based productions, so there’s no reason to think they’re making it up..

This is unfortunate, but I don’t see any possible solution for Marvel or Disney. It looks as though we’ll have to accept Falcon and the Winter Soldier delayed. Disney will be well aware of how much the Coronavirus epidemic is going hurt their balance sheets. Disney would be hoping that their Disney+ content might fill in any gap in ticket sales, so this won’t help matters.  It would be crazy at this point for Marvel Studios to abandon Prague and shoot elsewhere on such a tight schedule.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier delay does mean that WandaVision might actually finish production first. Though, AF hints here that there are storyline reasons why WandaVision cannot be pushed in front of Falcon and the Winter Soldier. At this time we have no idea what those storytelling reasons are? I would imagine changing that order would prove quite difficult narratively with how far the MCU is planned in advance?

As to when we might see Falcon and the Winter Soldier hit Disney+? I guess it’s going to depend on the situation with Coronavirus. Let’s hope the summer weather in the Northern Hemisphere will kill off the virus and end the scare. That’s about all anyone can do right now, and a delayed Marvel show is hardly the top concern here, not when lives are at stake.

What else is going to happen as a result of Coronavirus, when will we finally see Falcon and the Winter Soldier? Leave your thoughts below as always.
