Ulysses Klaue was of course killed in Black Panther after initially making his debut in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Though, in the MCU, there are any number of ways to allow characters to return. However Klaue’s return here will of course be in animated form. I’m assuming it was Serkis himself who did the voice work for the show. I’m sure you are already aware that What If…? will feature various stories showing alternate takes on the MCU. The most likely episode for Klaue to show up would be the one rumored to show Eric Killmonger and Tony Stark as friends. Alternatively, another episode is going to feature a what if Ultron won scenario. With Klaue’s ties to Ultron, that could also be an interesting place for the character to appear.

Klaue’s death in Black Panther kinda disappointed me. Klaue never felt like a main villain, but he was a great antagonist to occasionally show up all the same. Personally I’d have liked to see him evolve as time went on to be more like his comic counterpart. In my head I can imagine Klaue becoming less Human. However, it is likely this will be the last time we see Klaue in the MCU.

Still, it’s cool that we will get to at least hear Andy Serkis perform the role one last time. What do you think of the return of Klaue in What If…? As always leave any thoughts below.
