Rhythm of War audiobook narrators give us a sneak peek.
This November, the mammoth tome will be bounding its way into bookstores and retailers near you. We don’t know how many words it ultimately is, but based on what he’s said in the past, it will likely be at least 450,000 words. That means it will be roughly as big as Oathbringer, meaning it will clock in at around 1,200 to 1,300 hardcover pages. But how big is that when printed out in standard paper form?
Normally, we wouldn’t get a firsthand look at such a manuscript, but this is an exception. Audiobook narrators Michael Kramer and Kate Reading, who narrate The Stormlight Archive, recently posted an image of the manuscript for their followers on Facebook. In the post from Monday, they tease this as day one of their journey through Rhythm of War. Check out the book down below!

That is a HEFTY stack of papers there. Sadly, it’s impossible to see just how many pages it is, but there’s no doubt that it’s pretty darn big. Furthermore, based on the page on the left side, it looks as though this could be printed out front and back.
It is worth mentioning that this doesn’t look to be a standard manuscript format. That would normally be standard Times New Roman or Courier font, double-spaced, with roughly 250 words per page. This, instead, looks like a fully formatted PDF of the novel that’s been printed out. So, perhaps it better reflects how many pages the final product will be.
Either way, all this means is that Rhythm of War is 100% done in terms of copyediting, and is pretty much ready for consumption. Now all that needs to happen is the actual printing and audiobook recording, and it’s good to go!
