One of the reasons Rick and Morty is such a fantastic show is its ability to expertly parody classic science fiction films. The show’s premise is a love letter to Back to the Future, featuring an old, crazy scientist who endangers his young grandson in adventures through space and time. Additionally, the show has done episodes that are homages to Jurassic Park, Inception, and countless other fan favorites.

It seems like a fine pairing indeed then, that 20th Century Fox would work with Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland to create an advertisement for Alien: Covenant using the series’ unique brand of humor. Check out the brilliant short below:

That’s right, now we know how to avoid falling victim to a facehugger; simply “drink drugs and alcohol.” If only someone could only contact the crew of the Covenant before it is too late…

While Rick and Morty normally needs to tread carefully while parodying such films — not actually using copyrighted creatures or characters — it is a delight to see Rick and Morty walk down the iconic hallways, past the classic Alien egg, and encounter an actual, albeit animated, facehugger! If only Rick and Morty were used to sell sci-fi films more often.

What upcoming film would you like to see Rick and Morty help advertise?  What classic aliens or characters would you want to watch Rick defeat? Let us know in the comment section below!

Alien: Covenant arrives in theaters this Friday, May 19, 2017.
