Fans eager to catch a glimpse of the hilarity of “RICKY STANICKY” are in store for a treat, as the trailer just dropped. Prime Video’s latest offering promises a riotous adventure that explores the consequences of a harmless prank spiraling out of control, leaving audiences laughing and questioning the perils of imaginary friends gone wrong.
Prime Video is set to premiere the comedy film “RICKY STANICKY” on March 7, 2024. Directed by the acclaimed Peter Farrelly, the movie boasts a cast featuring the dynamic duo of Zac Efron and John Cena.
The storyline, penned by Jeff Bushell and a team of writers including Brian Jarvis, James Lee Freeman, Pete Jones, and Mike Cerrone, follows the escapades of three childhood best friends, Dean (Zac Efron), JT (Andrew Santino), and Wes (Jermaine Fowler). When a prank takes an unexpected turn, the trio invents the fictional character Ricky Stanicky to wriggle out of trouble.
Fast forward two decades and the trio still relies on the nonexistent Ricky as a convenient excuse for their immature antics. However, trouble ensues when their significant others grow suspicious and insist on finally meeting the elusive Mr. Stanicky. Faced with the prospect of their web of lies unraveling, the three friends decide to take an unconventional route – hiring washed-up actor and raunchy celebrity impersonator “Rock Hard” Rod, played by the larger-than-life John Cena, to bring Ricky Stanicky to life.
The film promises to deliver a rollercoaster of laughter as Rod takes his role too seriously, catapulting the trio into a series of comedic misadventures. As the boundaries between fiction and reality blur, Dean, JT, and Wes grapple with the consequences of their decades-old prank.
