According to the latest Barside Buzz we are getting The Rings of Power Season 2 in Fall, plus there’s more Tolkien projects hitting in 2024. The information comes from regular Tolkien related insiders FoF. The leakers claim that The Rings of Power will release this Fall, whilst War of the Rohirrim will arrive in theatres in December. They also say a new game called Tales of the Shire will release this year. Check it out.

I’ll be honest that this is the first time I have heard of Tales of the Shire, so I can’t give you any information. At least not beyond what I found on a search. The trailer below is a teaser and as such gives us very little idea of what to actually expect. The game is coming to PC and consoles and is set for release this year.
We do know a lot more about the other two projects. The War of the Rohirrim is an animated movie made by the same studio that made the movies. The story revolves around the tale of Helm Hammerhand and his wars. The main thing to note is that this project has zero connections with the live-action streaming show The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which is developed by Amazon.
Whilst we knew Rings of Power Season 2 was coming, as yet there has been no official release window. I’m currently not even 100% sure whether filming for Season 2 is now complete and I follow this content. Some fans had started to worry the show may well slip into 2025 at this point because nothing was coming from Amazon.

This is only a rumored release window for now. However so far I have found FoF to be extremely reliable with information from behind the scenes. If they are saying Fall 2024, I have no doubt this is the current plan. Now, no rumors so say this, so let’s be clear. However some fans are convinced a teaser for Season 2 will happen at this Superbowl. It did happen with Season 1. If the show is planned for Fall 24′ then It would not be out of the question at all to get a teaser in February. However, let’s wait and see. I did say it’s only being theorized by fans currently.
