After reported about her rumored involvement lately, we can now say Riri Williams confirmed for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. After all, this information comes from the best Marvel source there is, boss Kevin Feige. Feige spoke with ComicBook recently and confirmed (probably after all the rumors) that Riri Williams makes her debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, before she gets her own Ironheart show.
“We’re shooting Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, right now, and the character of Riri Williams, you will meet in Black Panther 2 first,” Feige said in an interview surrounding the release of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. “She started shooting, I think, this week before her Ironheart series.”
Riri Williams will be played by Dominique Thorne pictured in the header image above. Williams comic book origin also involved Tony Stark, so with Stark dead in the MCU things were always going to be a little different. Williams does look like she will begin her journey as an MIT student though. Filming for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has seen some BTS photos indicating the setting is in Cambridge, which just so happens to be where MIT is.
Yesterday, as you can see in the related section below, we covered the rumor Williams was in Wakanda Forever. According to The Cosmic Circus Williams has a sizeable role, not just a cameo. That looks to be true based on Feige’s comments.
As for how Williams and her tech skills blend in to the rumored conflict between Wakanda and Atlantis we cannot say? What if Riri build a Vibranium Iron Man suit, combining the tech of Stark and Wakanda. That would make her suit a lot more powerful than Tony’s. I guess we shall find out?
