No surprise to see Rob Riggle in the new comedy, The War With Grandpa out today! Can his character, Arthur, help reconcile the two rivals? 

Here’s the synopsis of the film:

Sixth-grader Peter (Oakes Fegley) is pretty much your average kid. He likes gaming, hanging with his friends and his beloved pair of Air Jordans. However, when his recently widowed grandfather Ed (Robert De Niro) moves in with Peter’s family, the boy is forced to give up his most prized possession of all, his bedroom. Unwilling to let such an injustice stand, Peter devises a series of increasingly elaborate pranks. He hopes to drive out the interloper, but Grandpa Ed won’t go without a fight. The friendly combatants engage in an all-out war with side-splitting consequences. 

Based on the award-winning book by Robert Kimmel Smith, The War With Grandpa is a hilarious family comedy featuring an all-star supporting cast: Christopher Walken, Uma Thurman, Rob Riggle, Cheech Marin, Laura Marano and Jane Seymour.

Rob Riggle is well known for being a stand-up comedian and actor. He has many television and film credits like Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, NBC’s Saturday Night Live, The Hangover, 21 Jump Street, Step Brothers and more. Including voice work for The Lorax  and Hotel Transylvania 2.  Riggle’s intended to be a Marine pilot but he left to go after his comedy career. Yet he did complete 23 years in the United States Marine Corps Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel with several awards and decorations. This facilitated him acting as the ‘Military Analysts’ and reporting from Iraq while on The Daily Show insight of the United Service Organization. In addition to entertaining the present troops.

I had a fun Zoom interview with Rob Riggle. He shared who he would have written his declaration of war letter to when he was a kid. Riggle also talks about improvising and working with Robert De Niro again.
