Back in the early to mid-2000s, Rob Zombie made a film called House of 1,000 Corpses. It was a fun gorefest that was a nice twist on many of the tropes we’ve seen in the horror genre. He then went all-in on his villains with The Devil’s Rejects, which pretty much nixed most of the horror aspects and almost strictly followed the story from the perspective of the bad guys. In the years since then, he has promised a sequel.
I know, I know. How can there be a sequel to the film? After all, we left the second film with the main trio charging a bunch of police cars, getting riddled full of bullets in the process. Well, like the best horror characters, a few bullets never stopped anyone, right?
Now, Zombie has released a new grindhouse-like trailer for his fans to indulge in. There admittedly isn’t much of anything revealed here. The first half of this teaser is full of flashbacks from the first couple of movies, and the rest contains grainy and scratched-up footage of what seems to be from the new trilogy-capper, Three From Hell.
Does this movie give us an idea of what the story is about? Not at all. But it’s still fun to watch.
