Rogue Agent Trailer Is One Woman’s Pursuit To Take Down A Fake Spy

Rogue Agent with Gemma Arterton and James Norton

Con men certainly have multiple identities they’ll use to deceive their victims. Based on a true story, Rogue Agent has one con man faking his spy identity to lure women into extortion. Ultimately, his crime spree ends with one woman outwitting him.

The film stars Gemma Arterton (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, The Girl with All the Gifts), James Norton (Little Women, Mr. Jones), and Sarah Goldberg (The Dark Knight Rises, The Report). Daclan Lawn and Adam Patterson directed the movie from the screenplay written by Michael Bronner.

Here is the official synopsis:

Rogue Agent is the extraordinary and chilling story of a career conman, Robert Freegard played by James Norton, with Gemma Arterton as Alice Archer, the woman who brought him down. Freegard was a master manipulator who convinced countless victims he was undercover MI5 to extort and kidnap them. He was at large for many years until he met the woman who would end his career.

Initially falling for his charms, she became the architect of his downfall, and her actions led to his conviction and arrest. A tale of lies, loyalty, fear, and hope, this film will follow years of manipulation, investigation, and the high-stakes manhunt that resulted in Freegard’s capture and saving the life of his final victim.
