We’re one short month away from the anticipated release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and with each passing trailer, we get more and more glimpses into the inter-workings of the story and script. While it’s clear to me based on the trailers that this film takes place before the original, I still do have to wonder if the average moviegoer fully understands where things stand in reference to the plot of the whole saga.
Regardless, any excuse to get a deeper look at what we’ll be experiencing next month is welcome for me, and thanks to the folks over at Comicbook.com, we now have a new international trailer for Rogue One. While many international trailers are usually just remixes of standard trailers, with some extra footage thrown in in small doses, this one is packed with all sorts of nuggets, and is, for all intents and purposes, a completely new trailer.
Don’t take my word for it, though. See it for yourself.
In this trailer, we see a more in-depth look at Jyn as a young girl, and her relationship with her father. We had bits and pieces of this before, but I feel as though this trailer takes the time to really let things sink in a bit more before catapulting us into the main plot of the film. All in all, I wish this particular trailer would get released in theaters, as it gives us a much better look at the story, which would help those not necessarily searching out new information.
The official synopsis for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is as follows:
“In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.â€
