This will come as no surprise to anyone, but Ron Howard confirms there’s no Solo movie sequel. We pretty much already heard this from writer Jon Kasdan, and again from star Alden Ehrenreich. Solo was a flop, and it would or could be seen as a risk for Disney to go there again. However there have been lost of rumors of a Solo continuation on Disney+ recently?
Howard revealed this non-shocking detail on Radio Andy on SiriusXM. You can find the video below, but here is what Howard said about Solo.
“Well, there’s no sequel planned now and it’s amazing to be a part of a Star Wars movie that seems to be a kind of underground hit, which is not what you’d expect, but that’s been an odd, strange journey for that movie.”

It begs the question of whether this debunks the recent Disney+ rumors? I have to say, no, I don’t think it does. Howard was speaking about a movie sequel. If early plans are in place for a Disney+ show, there is really no reason Howard would be in the know. It’s possible they could ask Howard back as a director on the show, but directors would not be involved at this stage. The recent comments from Ehrenreich, plus the rumors, have all indicated if a Solo Disney+ show is happening, it’s in the early planning stages.
However, that is really just my opinion, you may choose to see Howard’s words another way. All I can do is provide the quote and give my own two cents. I could definitely still see life in Solo yet, but I never thought there was a chance we’d ever see another movie. Hence my
