Room To Move made its debut in Tribeca 2025 and is now coming to Netflix. Showing us a contemporary dancer, Jenn Freeman navigate an unexpected new life chapter while director Alexander Hammer filmed her power of movement. Then unexpectedly learns about the Autism Spectrum Disorder and learns how to handle the late-diagnosis.
The Synopsis
A deeply personal and visually expressive documentary directed by Alexander Hammer, Room to Move follows acclaimed choreographer, dancer, and educator Jenn Freeman as she navigates the most transformative chapter of her life. At 33, her world is cracked open when she is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, a neurodevelopmental disorder necessitating lifelong adaptation. Executive produced by Amy Schumer and Sarah Sarandos, and filmed with immersive intimacy by Hammer, Room to Move is not a dance documentary – it is a groundbreaking portrait of neurodivergence, identity, and the quiet power of finally being able to name your truth.
