It’s been a while since we’ve heard a rumor about whether or not Ben Affleck plans to continue playing Batman in the DC Extended Universe. But, never fear, a new rumor has surfaced, leaving things just as muddy as ever.
Revenge of the Fans has new information from their sources, so take this all with a grain of salt, as always with Batfleck rumors.
An “insider” told Revenge of the Fans that Affleck’s role as Batman in the DCEU “is not what he thought it would be.”
Meanwhile, the source also says that Warner Bros and DC are also disappointed that Affleck “didn’t RDJ this thing.” As in become the Robert Downey Jr. aka face of the DC Extended Universe.
But, Affleck is not out yet, but he also doesn’t sound like he’s all the way in, either. A quote, directly from the outlet’s source:
“The present Batman is still Affleck. A change in cowl will not happen publicly until Ben is officially gone, and he is currently The Batman. But like we have said, it’s a negotiation thing right now. Not money, but appearances and creative. Ben isn’t wanting to vacate, but not wanting to commit fully.”
I can only speak for myself, but just commit fully, man! Affleck is my favorite live-action Batman to date, and it would be a shame to see him go. For all we know, The Batman and Justice League 2 could rock. It seems premature to pull the plug. You agreed to play one of the most iconic superheros of all time, so do it! Please. For the sake of the DCEU! Because, if Affleck leaves, I say it’s time to start over with actors who will commit to their iconic roles for 10 years plus like the Marvel Cinematic Universe leads.
What do you think? Should Affleck just make up his mind or what? Let us know in the comment section below!
