RUMOR: Is Blue Beetle Headed To Arrow?

Arrow seems to be in the midst of some real change. Many of their core cast of characters have been dropping like flies as the storyline has developed, leaving some open spaces for more big name characters to join Oliver Queen in his ongoing struggle to protect his city. So what new characters are in store for Season 7 of the series?

TV Line recently revealed that we could expect two more roles int he upcoming season, but the folks over at That Hashtag Show has more details and speculations as to one big character who could be making his way to TV land. In addition to Jessie Bowden, who will likely be filling the void of Quentin Lance, we get an interesting description for “Daniel Porter.”

“Next up is another recurring character in the form of “Daniel Porter”, who they are looking for a Caucasian actor in his mid-30s. He is an intelligent and homosexual technological entrepreneur whose creativity has given him a huge success as a businessman. But having gone through tragic losses in his life is something he hides from the people around him, thus struggling with shaping new relationships with others.”

So where are the red flags here? For starters, it’s the name Daniel. In the past, “Daniel” was used as a code word for Ray Palmer (the Atom), who since went on to join Arrow and, soon after, Legend of Tomorrow. Given this precedent, Daniel could once again be another code word. But for who? The outlet speculates that Ted Kord, a.k.a. Blue Beetle could be the hero in question.

Given that this is another tech wizard, there is that possibility. Add in the fact that series creator Greg Berlanti was once attached to create a Booster Gold and Blue Beetle team-up film, and in the years since its announcement, nothing’s come of up. Perhaps they’ve ditched it and decided to bring one of those characters to the Arrowverse? That’d be pretty cool!

What do you think? Does it sound like Blue Beetle is headed to Arrow? Sound off down below!
