While Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order may have been quite a hit in the video game department, but to many, it still doesn’t hold a candle to some of the best Star Wars games out there. Of course, you have classics like Super Star Wars to look at, but one titan, Knights of the Old Republic, really took things to a whole new level.

It was a role-playing game that hit back in 2003 that allowed you to shape your own Jedi back when that very idea seemed unthinkable. It has since gone on to be a beloved staple of the Star Wars video game diet, and as recent as five years ago, there were rumors of a remake.

Now, the folks over at CineLinx are reporting that a remake actually is in the works. Of sorts. They have two sources stating something of the sort, but neither are in agreement on what it is exactly. One says it’s a remake, and the other says a “sequel” of sorts that would bring elements from the first two games as well as other stuff from the current Star Wars canon. Perhaps “re-imagining” is a better word.

Of course, this is just a rumor, and as such, it deserves to be taken with a grain of salt, but I’m sure I’m not the only one here hoping it’s true. As a lover of RPGs and Star Wars, this game series has always been a perfect mesh, and it’s been long enough that I couldn’t remember any details even if I tried.
