It’s pretty much been assumed that the X-Men characters and Fantastic Four would be rebooted at some point within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Given how well they could fit within an established world of heroes, it makes sense audiences would want to see them join forces with the likes of Hulk, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange. But what about Deadpool?

The Merc with a Mouth is in a completely different boat. Not only is Deadpool tailor-made for actor Ryan Reynolds, but his past two films have been nothing short of stellar. But it ain’t as easy to just bringing him over to a Spider-Man film, as his movies are of the R-rated variety.

We Got This Covered is reporting that Ryan Reynolds will indeed be returning to play Wade Wilson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe…but it just won’t be the same Wade Wilson. That’s right, this guy will have the same personality, but minus the backstory we’ve seen so far. It seems inevitable that this is something Deadpool himself would make fun of in the movie, so look forward to that joke if this is true.

But does this mean Disney is dead-set on PG-13-ifying the character for their world? Oi. Of course, take this all with a grain of salt, but I’ve never wanted a rumor to be as fake as I want this one to be now…But what do you think? Let us know your thoughts down below!
