The upcoming VenomVerse’s placement in respect to the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been pretty confusing from the get-go. Naturally, we’d expect he’d be a part of it, and even Amy Pascal stated as much, only to backpedal later, pretty much indicating, “yeah, it’s there…but you’ll never see it in respect to everything else.”

Well, things may be getting a little less confusing, if we’re to believe this rumor. In today’s episode of Collider Movie Talk, panelist Jon Schnepp revealed the following rumor.
“Spider-Man is going to be in Venom. For the last couple of months, we’ve been hearing how Sony is keeping it all separated, and Spider-Man is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but every other character that’s in the Spider-Man universe is separate. All I’m saying is that Spider-Man—and I’m talking about Tom Holland’s Spider-Man—is going to be in Venom.”
If true, then it turns out Pascal’s initial statements about there being a possibility of Spidey popping up weren’t an example of her speaking out of turn. This is both good and bad. The good is that it makes things less confusing. The bad is that fans will now be pestering Marvel Studios to allow Venom to interact with Spidey in his own film.
This is why we can’t have nice things.
Now is this credible? Obviously, this should be taken with a grain of salt, but given other rumors in the past of Spider-Man: Homecoming’s Scorpion playing a key role in Silver & Black, it sounds like this universe will be intertwining quite a bit, which is pretty cool. Plus, Schnepp isn’t one to spurt out rumors — he’s rarely even one to try and break scoops. With that in mind, we’d think that he’s at least confident in this one, otherwise he wouldn’t bother saying it.
