Rumored Brainiac Actor Shortlist For Man Of Tomorrow | Barside Buzz

James Gunn debunks the recent casting rumors for the Brainiac role in Man of Tomorrow. Secondly we have the rumored role ScarJo (Scarlett Johansson) will play in The Batman Part II.

In today’s Barside Buzz we share a rumored actor shortlists for the Brainiac role in DCU sequel Man of Tomorrow, coming from James Gunn. Man of Tomorrow is in full development from Gunn, with various script drafts and storyboards, so it makes sense it’s about time to start casting.

One of the names shared below is one we have heard and shared on LRM already. The other two are brand new though and both seem much harder to pull off. The source of this information is Nexus Point News.

‘Sources tell Nexus Point News that Claes Bang, Matt Smith, and Sam Rockwell are among those on the short list for the highly anticipated Superman antagonist. However, we should note that some of the names we have mentioned have not been independently verified fully, as casting remains ongoing and no offers have been made. One piece of information told to NPN was budget restrictions at DC Studios may prevent certain desirable names to be cast.’

The budget is always a concern in this day and age, even for a sequel to a successful film (Superman). my guess is that Claes Bang, the name we had heard previously, would be cheapest of the three names above. Though, perhaps I’m wrong on that with regards to Matt Smith. As for Rockwell, he’s clearly the biggest name and most respected actor awards wise, but he probably costs most as well.

I’ll also add that Smith doesn’t feel right to me for this one. Don’t get me wrong, I love the actor, but I think he’s in a phase right now where Hollywood wants to typecast him as a baddie. Reports are that Smith plays a villain in Star Wars: Starfighter (filming now) and already played a Marvel villain in Sony’s awful Morbius film. I want to see Smith get more Hollywood roles, because he’s brilliant, However, these constant villain roles I’m not sure are the right call for his career?

Bang, I know very little of, so I have no opinion either way.

Man of Tomorrow is set to be released on July 9, 2027. What do you think of this rumored actor shortlist for the Brainiac role in Man of Tomorrow? Thoughts below.
