Rumored villains for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Tarantula and Boomerang were teased by director Destin Daniel Cretton’s assistant, then deleted. The post in Instagram which has now been deleted by Cretton’s assistant had two Spider-Man comic covers on a wall. You’ll get a better idea of what I mean from the post below.
Here are the covers, maybe we get a villain fighting montage like in F4 to show what happened during the time jump from NWH or they are present for longer who knows 👀 pic.twitter.com/32w6nt4cht

Now of course, this is not a confirmation. However, it is odd that two secondary villains that are rumored for the film appear on the covers. I’m not that familiar with Boomerang as a villain. Maybe I forgot him from my comic days. That over cover though is familiar enough that I think at one time I had the same comic myself. Tarantula was always a decent villain for me in the comics. Not on the level of some of the big hitters, but having him in a comic usually had me picking it up.

How both villains would be modernised for an MCU film remains to be seen. Also, whilst the deletion indicates a faux pas, we can’t say for certain either are in the film.
So far we know only that Punisher is in the film, and strong rumors that Hulk is also. I do like the idea of Peter having to handle some more manageable villains like the two we are discussing today. I guess we shall see soon enough. Filming gets underway in a week or so in Glasgow, Scotland, before moving to Pinewood Studios in London.
What do you think? Is this a tease that went too far for Tarantula and Boomerang, two villains already rumored? Who would you like to see turn up in Spider-Man: Brand New Day based on all he current rumors? Let us know below as always.
