Ryan Gosling Doesn’t Seem To Have Much Interest In Playing A Superhero

Ryan Gosling has had quite the storied career. From movies like Lars and the Real Girl to La La Land and Blade Runner 2049, it’s safe to see that he’s had his real fair share of critically-acclaimed roles. However, you can’t really say he’s the first actor that comes to mind when you think of typical big budget films. Sure, he did headline the aforementioned Blade Runner 2049, but that was more of a slow burn, thoughtful, meditative film than your average Marvel or DC joint.

So, does Ryan Gosling himself have any interest in joining the superhero craze in the future? He was asked this very question by Variety, and as you can see in the video below, he doesn’t seem to have a whole lot of interest.

In the video, Gosling takes a long pause before saying:

“Oh, you know. I don’t know. It would depend…Damien [Chazelle], do you want to do that one? Now that I’d like to see. Damien Chazelle-Batman. That I’d like to see.”

Based on that clip alone, it seems very clear that he hasn’t thought much about it. When all said and done, this is an actor who seems to choose his roles very carefully based on the script in front of him and the talent involved. With that in mind, I’d never rule it out, but don’t expect him to start campaigning to play someone like John Constantine any time soon.

What superhero would you like to see Gosling play, if any? Let us know down below!
