Samaritan | Press Conference

Sylvester Stallone makes a return to the screen as the star and producer of Samaritan. In the company of Javan “Wanna” Walton, Pilou Asbæk and Dascha Polanco.

The Synopsis

Thirteen-year-old Sam Cleary (Javon “Wanna” Walton, “The Umbrella Academy”) suspects that his mysterious and reclusive neighbor Mr. Smith (Sylvester Stallone, “Rocky”) is actually a legend hiding in plain sight. Twenty-five years ago, Granite City’s super-powered vigilante, Samaritan, was reported dead after a fiery warehouse battle with his rival, Nemesis. Most believe Samaritan perished in the fire, but some in the city, like Sam, have hope that he is still alive. With crime on the rise and the city on the brink of chaos, Sam makes it his mission to coax his neighbor out of hiding to save the city from ruin.

Pilou Asbæk, Jovab “Wanna” Walton and Dascha Polanco were grouped together during the press conference of Samaritan. Asbæk showed a super humble personality and shared the funny story of how he got the role and how he created a bad ass bad guy. Walton spoke about the different logistics in the action scenes compared to the boxing physical moves he is used to, in addition to the relationship he built with Polanco as she played his mother. Polanco later joined the group to share how she geeked out inside while working with Sylvester Stallone but on the outside kept it professional. Check out the full conference below and see Asbæk, Wanna and Polanco trying their Stallone voice impressions and more…!

Of course our all time favorite star Sylvester Stallone made the press conference to talk about Samaritan. He spoke about human experience in acting and compared acting from the earlier years to now. Stallone spoke about similarities in Pilou Asbæk, Mr.T and Drago played by Dolph Lundgren as bad guys and being key for the good guy. Stallone also spoke about his character and referenced him as the modern day Hercules and more…
