The most recent episode brought so much joy all around for so many Star Wars fans.  For fans that had invested so much time in watching The Clone Wars and Rebels last Friday was a sense of enjoyment that others wouldn’t have understood.  While a majority of the focus was on Katee Sackhoff’s live portrayal of Bo-Katan Kryze there was a new character that got her own moment to shine.  That of course would be Mercedes Varnado who portrayed Koska Reeves of Clan Kryze.

Mercedes Varnado may not be a name that most people are familiar with.  That is because most people know her as WWE Superstar Sasha Banks.  Rumored for a long time to be a part of The Mandalorian last Friday was finally her moment to shine.  Mercedes like many other WWE Superstars is paving her own path to Hollywood and last Friday was the beginning.  The moment of appearing on screen on such a big project like The Mandalorian brought out so many emotions.  Some of them though were because of the day of the premiere and the special meaning behind it.

In her interview with USA Today Sasha talked how important that day was for her and the personal meaning it had for her.

On Nov. 13 15 years ago, my hero Eddie Guerrero passed away. So I’ve always thought about the date as something that was really terrible in my life, but I used it to fuel my passion and to really just create a legacy for myself. It’s so crazy how the universe is working kind of full circle for me right now.

For those of you who don’t know, Mercedes childhood dream was to be a WWE Wrestler.  Of course she not only achieved that dream but she has become one of the greatest female wrestlers to enter the squared ring.  Mercedes character, Sasha Banks, carries some of the most famous traits of Eddie Guerrero who was bigger than life during his time on the WWE.

Unfortunately Eddie past away way to soon while he was at the top of his game in the WWE. His death had an impact on a lot of fans of wrestling and also of Mercedes.  While November 13th will always be a day remembered for Eddie now Mercedes can have add some happiness to that day.  As you can tell from her Instagram post the morning of the episode she was happy to share that moment her name appeared on screen.  Something tells me this is just the beginning of many happy moments for Mercedes.
